The 25 Km stretch of Rajiv Gandhi Salai from Siruseri to Mamallapuram will be widened in Phase-II to six lane configuration as in Phase-I (including two bypasses at Kelambakkam and Tiruporur). The Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 465.13 crores for acquisition of 88.62 hec of land in 13 villages along the proposed the road stretch. The land acquisitions has been completed in 9 villages and in progress in 4 villages.
The DPR for six laning the OMR from Siruseri to Mamallapuram including two bypasses for a total length of 25 KM was prepared to an estimated cost of Rs.573.99 Crore. The Government accorded Administrative Sanction for Rs. 243.70 Crore for forming two bypasses at Kelambakkam (4.675 km) &Tiruporur (7.45 km) under TNIPP-II as first stage of Phase-II. The work has been awarded to M/s. RR Infraa Constructions on 25.06.2018 with a completion period of 24 months. The works is in progress in the acquired lands and the probable date of completion of the work is 31.10.2021.
